Grain Silos
HOPPER SILOS
Hopper silos are typically designed for storing smaller quantities of bulk materials up to 500 cubic meters. They can be used for short-term storage of wet materials. Unlike flat-bottom silos, hopper silos have support legs and a cone at the bottom. The cone can be equipped with integrated ventilation ducts and additional fans. Complete
unloading does not require a sweep auger inside. If needed, temperature and/or volume monitoring systems can be installed inside the silos
FLAT BOTTOM SILOS
Flat-bottom silos are typically designed for storing large quantities of bulk materials exceeding 500 cubic meters. They are usually equipped with ventilation fans. The ventilation system can be ducted – embedded in the foundation, or feature raised perforated floors covering the entire silo area. A sweep auger is typically used for completely unloading the silo. If needed, temperature and/or volume monitoring systems can be installed inside the silos.UNLOADING SILOS
Uploading silos are structurally very similar to conical silos, but theirsupport legs are higher and designed to allow cargo transport to drive underneath them. Typically, there is a larger gate at the bottom of the silo cone for quick discharge of bulk materials. These silos do not require a temperature measurement and ventilation system
